Idle…
Sitting back idly…. accepting what you know to be wrong… is not acceptable. My battle is to be mad and yet still live with love, care and show compassion. Got to go all Mother Teresa on your a&*. I’m betting she was pretty stubborn.
TK inspired me when he shared this: Saving Democracy: 3 Urgent Steps We Must Take Now
And so now I am giving to: The American Library Association, Amnesty International (I was once the regional president at EWU!), The NAACP and the ACLU. Hopefully my minor donations will help them use their knowledge and know they are supported… not the same as being there, but I am not a legal mind and that’s what needs to be leveraged now.
My first political donation ever happened about 6th months ago to Harris. Phooey.
Shattered…
I was cleaning and doing some baking this afternoon. I started listening to some Chinese Rap and then some Sofi Tukker and I was like… no. no. This isn’t right.
So I made a new Pandora station. Supaman, DJ Shub, The Halluci Nation, Snotty Nose Rez Kids… yup. Going Indigenous. Going rebellious. Their fight has been real for the entirety of the US’s and Canada’s existence and the fight continues. They are the attitude I need now… btw… if I had it my way indigenous folks would get at least triple the votes of everyone else - just think what I’d be doing to the Electoral College.
And they are mad. And they made me laugh. Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Lost Tribe. I know some of you will be like, “What the hell is this?” but you must listen. You must read the lyrics. You must laugh when they mention Halloween and later knock knock knock on the door. You must. (sorry, they do curse a bunch)
No video - but music on Youtube:
And the lyrics can be found here on Genius.com - read them while you listen. REALLY.
I don’t curse much. Maybe it’s time to start.

Many were sad. Then they were shocked, and of course awed. I think a great beast is waking up to say wait a minute. It's all about telling the story. The story about what we have in this country amd what is at risk. If woody Guthrie was here he would say - Democracy: ain't dead yet! This is what will go on my sign Monday at the capitol in olympia. I just saw "a complete unknown " the movie about Bob Dylan, and in the movie he meets woody and Pete segar. Woody had cards made up that said "ain't dead yet" since he was sick in the hospital and could no longer speak and is the inspiration for my sign
