Finding the Green
Nature is marvelous
Note! There are a bunch of pictures making this post too long for email. To see them all you’ll have to click through.
Three Parts: Badger Hills. Elkhorn Slough. Run from home.
On the mood meter GREEN is higher energy and generally feeling positive.
It’s nice to be in that zone.
When there’s stuff I am dealing with or need to work through I do best by getting out into nature. It’s nice if it is with friends but that is not always necessary and sometimes, it’s actually better alone so I can just truly focus on the moment and see the green, the flowers, the sky. Sometimes friends talk a lot and force you into thoughts that maybe don’t need to be thought just then.
This weekend my normal social physical activity buddies were all unavailable. So, rather than sit around and let my thoughts go I got out of the apartment so maybe they wouldn’t. And since I tried to keep thought minimal, I will here as well.
Saturday. Beautiful clear skies. I almost decided to just run from home and look for whales but I wanted a big hill and green.
Fort Ord starting at Badger Hills.
The initial hill. Yes, that’s an insect.
The first baaaa’d animals
From the top. That’s the trail I’m going to go down to…and then back up.
This is what it looks like from the bottom. The bridge is new.
’Room with a view
Back up top. The Monterey Bay in the middle left - just a sliver.
More baaaaa’d animals.
Mile 9… to Ford or go back? Ford!
The route. A little over 10 miles. About 1200’ Elevation gain
Sunday - Hike at Elkhorn Slough.
There was no specific one thing that was unexpected or fabulous. It was just nice.
The trails… wet and slick as snot. Good really. Fewer people.
Funny thing is… under all that brown, it’s green.
I like lines and sun shots
Tuesday after School. Run from home. 8 miles.
What? Yes. Another creek to cross. Jumped over this one. Much to my Physical Therapists chagrin. She was not happy with me. And yes, I jumped over it 2 times.
Bubbles on the beach!
This is my default run path from home. Yes. I am spoiled.
