some poems / musings to music

doodle - Love and Rockets was playing - doodle.

Went on a short walk, got a coffee and sat in Starbucks for an hour and hand wrote some stuff. I ended up writing page long poems/musings while listening to some different types of music. Each bit filled a page in my little notebook exactly. Yup.

Here they are. As usual, I don’t edit much. It’s just as it came out. I indicated what sort of stuff I was listening to for each page. Vague, perhaps deep, and open to interpretation - that’s me.

Page 1.  While listening to Sofi Tukker. 

I will announce my presence
	when the door closes behind me
		and I am gone

You might feel the breeze of the draft
	or sense the change in lighting
but silence will prevail
	during
		and
			after

I am the hand
	plunged in the bucket of water
		preserving its level artificially
			its volume
that exits
	and while the water will move
		to replace me
	the level will be lower
		less… yet it will look the same from above.

I am not the bull.
	I am not the guard dog.
I am the silent key
	that locks the door before danger enters.

That silent provider
	so silent
		maybe not even missed
			when gone.

“Oh yeah?? What about that guy?”



Page 2.  SupaMan and Snotty Noze Rez Kids

Water falls
	arrives energy-less
		having soaked, frozen, clinged
to fir needles high alone
		unconcerned.
Then pummeled and released to 
absorb the life energy of the earth
Tiny drop
	flees the heights
		runs downhill with ease
			gathering speed, life energy, 
		power.
Some siblings linger
	captured by roots and
spread power upward
	skyward
absorbed by green, by insects,
	by bird and mammals
		life.

Flows down and forever growing
	until, crashing on rocks
		and stones, success…	    slows
and the peaceful tranquil of the giant absorbs it.

Part of the whole. Energy pools
	life forms. floats.
the pool radiates serene power
divides - expands - and tiny pieces 
flee to rain down again.

Desire and wants
	Denial closed like a censored book.
Secrets…ashamed…unwilling.
Lies so deep the liar forgets.
	Lies so deep they cannot be reached.

Truth - modifiable - no longer
	as simple as a misspeled word.
Truth - interpretation - a relaying
	bought through emphasis and
		redaction.

Truth - a lie - is most effective when 
selectively revealed.
	-that fish in the sea that slyly
shows you that tiny bait appendage…
	“See this reality, tiny guppy?”

and you do - see a tasty morsel
	of truth… and you move to 
	take it… that tiny nibble…
	only to find that it was deception
	and the only goal was
		to consume you…
	you are the food.
		the dinner
			the energy to be consumed
		You
		will become the compost
of the giant monster.
Heating its home with your distrust.

Power resides in the moment
The focus that takes
	a million points of light
and brings them together into 
	a tiny squeeze
cone… of purview.
That focus that allows you
	to see
		connections, concepts, that
	normally float, wandering random
pieces of life craft,
and slowly
	in focus
their colors match
	and their pieces blend together
	connected like
	philosophical lego
until a giant masterpiece is
	formed. One vision.
A comprehension
	an understanding of the whole.

And you know. In your smallness
	you know.
The pattern. You see.
	So large, you so small.
These machinations that render 
the tiny water drop all powerful
		and yet powerless and serene.
